Sažetak
The paper presents a theoretical framework for analyzing post-­‐ socialist media systems in new European democracies. The idea of the “mixed” model, or a common “post-­socialist” model of media system in Central and Eastern Europe is critically examined, but the starting thesis is that is not possible in view of very different pre-­ socialism histories of the region, as well as very different socialist experiences. In fact, the only reason why one common model is proposed is because these countries share one historical period in common.
