Sažetak
The construction of a Combined Cycle Power Plant Bravar is planned on the area of the former Alumina Factory Obrovac. For the purposes of the operation of the electric power plant, water supply has been provided through the water intake from the Zrmanja river (10.35 m3/h). The study analyzes the impact that the pumping of water from the river for the needs of the technological processes (maximum of 2.88 l/s) and the discharge of heated, pre-treated wastewater into the river, downstream from the town of Obrovac, have on Zrmanja. The paper describes how the discharge of process water heated for Δt = 3 °C affects the quality of water in the mixing zone around the outlet. Simulations have been carried out using a 3D numerical model ; furthermore, the processes of advection and turbulent diffusion have been considered. The stream flow and temperature fields for the different flow regimes (0.311 m3/h, 4.71 m3/h) have been received. The objective was to determine the acceptability of process wastewater discharge in the Zrmanja river.
