Sažetak
In connection with a screening program for biologically active beta-lactams we studied the reactivity of the 3-carbonylamino-4-oxoazetidine-2-sulfinic acid derivatives. The key intermediates are epimers of the 3-o-chlorophenyl-isoxazolyl-4-oxoazetidine-2-sulfinamides II prepared starting from cloxacillin sulfoxide I. The transformation of II via 2-chloro derivatives into oxazoline-isoxazole system III, with and without, azetidinone ring as well as into anhydro 2-azacepham IV will be presented.
