Sažetak
Virtual learning environments are widely implemented within Croatian universities with the scope of enhancing higher education. Moodle, as a preferred virtual learning environment (VLE) in Juraj Dobrila University of Pula is offered to students as a complementary tool to improve the teaching process and learning outcomes. The aim of our study is to analyze the use of Moodle platform by students and identifying factors that drive the intention to use it. A better insight into the factors influencing the intention to use Moodle enables us to develop actions to motivate the VLE utilization by students and therefore, improve learning outcomes. The study is based on the Technology acceptance model - TAM (Davis, 1989), which specifies the causal relationships between perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and actual usage behavior. For this research, the TAM is extended to include technical support (Sánchez and Hueros, 2010.) and perceived compatibility with student tasks (Escobar-Rodriguez and Monge-Lozano, 2012.). A survey is carried out with 86 students of the Department of economics and tourism “Dr. Mijo Mirković”.
