Sažetak
The SPLIT server is an easy to use, modular web server for membrane protein secondary structure prediction. The structure prediction is based on the method of preference functions, developed by prof. Davor Juretić. The original prediction program, written in FORTRAN 77, was wrapped into the server, written in HTML, ANSI C and unix shell script language. An independent and portable graphics library was created to enable the graphical presentation of results. The minimal user input is the protein sequence; more advanced use allows the choice of program version and amino acid scales. Currently the server is accessible at http://pref.etfos.hr as the HTML form.
