Sažetak
Apple (Malus domestica Borkh.) is the most significant fruit species in Croatia with tendency of further growth in production. Apple fruits are stored after harvest in order to provide market with quality fruits yearlong. It is known that many diseases occur on fruits during and after storage, mostly caused by fungi. Causal agents of apple fruit diseases in storage are poorly investigated in Croatia, or information regarding them are old. The objective of this study was to determine pathogens of apple fruit cv. Pink Lady from two locations (Bjelovar and Vrgorac) after seven months of storage in ULO (Ultra Low Oxygen) conditions. The determination of fungal pathogens was based on symptoms on infected apple fruit, and according to the morphology of isolates in pure culture, compared to descriptions of fungal species in publications. Determined pathogens were Penicillium spp., Neofabraea spp., Fusarium spp., Colletotrichum spp., Alternaria spp. and Botrytis spp. Results of this study showed differences in fungal population structure depending on orchard location. On location Vrgorac the most significant causal agent of apple fruit storage diseases were fungi Botrytis spp. (54, 2%), and Neofabraea spp. (27, 2%), while on other location (Bjelovar) most common fungal pathogens were those from genus Colletotrichum (33, 4%), and Fusarium spp. (29, 2%).
