Sažetak
In order to explain the present state of the media in post-socialist European new democracies we should extend our view beyond the process of media reform and look at the media system as a whole. When we do this, we notice the missteps in past media reforms and that some relationships in the media field do not any more correspond to expectations included in normative media reform solutions.
