Sažetak
XVIII dynasty, the most glorious Egyptian dynasty was founded after the fall of foreign kings called Hyksos around 1550 B.C.. They are considered as the founders of the New Kingdom. Several diseases are described in the XVIII dynasty: ankylosing spondylitis, myotonic dystrophy, pituitary tumor, Klinefelter syndrome, familial gigantoform cementoma and Marfan syndrome. Amenhotep IV, a hereditary pharaoh of the XVIII dynasty is, probably, the most controversial person in Egyptian history and he still remains the object of academic disputes. He has introduced a new concept in Egyptian religion and arts. It has remained unexplained if his image was just an artistic outbreak from Egyptian canon or an excellent paleopathological study. If images are realistic we propose a new disease that he could have suffered of: homocystinuria - lack of cystathionine- beta- synthase. We suggest further researches on available mummies.
