Sažetak
Medicine as a science in Ancient Egypt appeared very early. Around 2650 B.C. first physician Imhotep is the architect of the first pyramid and his reputation is spotless. Later he has been worshiped as a god of medicine. By the end of third millennium B.C. relieves testified of development of Egyptian Medicine. From the beginning of the second millennium B.C. papyri started to reveal us the complexity of Egyptian pharmacology. Over the time, the power of the Egyptian state has been falling, but if we can believe ancient sources, including Herodotus and Homer, medical profession was very developed and doesn't cease to exist, as it was case in Mesopotamia. Egyptian public health was very advance thanks to high level of hygiene. Although gods and demons were not mentioned in the beginning, later they multiplied and always held very important role in Egyptian medicine.
