Sažetak
Bacterial lipid libraries exhibit a high degree of structural variety in context of substitution patterns of fatty acids as well as structural features of the non-lipid part of the molecule. Cardiolipins are tetraacylphospholipids, which are components of the inner mitochondrial membrane and the cytoplasmic membrane. They can be substituted by glucose, alanine or lysine as has already been detected and identified by FAB-MS (1-4) and negative ion-ESI-MS and - MS/MS (2-6). Cardiolipins from Geobacillus stearothermophilus NRS 20004/3a contain fatty acids of different chain length, as already shown by us using ESI-QTOF-MS, CID and negative ion parent ion scanning (7). Here we report on a novel strategy for screening of bacterial lipid libraries by positive and negative ion MALDI-TOF PSD and MALDI-QTOF-CID.
