Sažetak
This thesis describes and explains the series of fantasy novels about Harry Potter comparing it with children's narratives about wizards, witches and witchcraft that had been written before it, and which share some similarities with the series. Harry Potter books have gained a huge success since they were published, and have triggered many reactions, from those explaining its popularity, to those criticizing the series and its author. Literary worlds of respective narratives are revealed, the protagonists compared as well as the worlds they live in. The thesis also addresses the question of uniqueness and originality of "Harry Potter" and its big success.
