Sažetak
Detailed investigations of ion track morphologies attracted a lot of interest recently [1-4] because valuable information related to the ion track formation can be obtained in this way. For example, chainlike morphology of swift heavy ion tracks in SrTiO3 was related to the oscillating electronic stopping power when the swift heavy ion passes through the crystal under near channelling conditions [1]. In other study, core-shell track structure was attributed to the appearance of melt and vapor phase in a-SiO2 [4]. However, to test the predictions of the thermal spike models which are commonly used to describe ion tracks [5], [6], [7] it is of interest to obtain experimental data on continuous ion tracks. Therefore, in the present contribution, we present results of RBS/c measurements on SrTiO3 and TiO2 single crystals irradiated with 28 MeV I and 90 MeV Xe ions.
