Sažetak
Over the several years of research in studying the roughness of engineering surfaces in the Laboratory for precise length measurements at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture in Zagreb, all the scientific and material conditions have been provided to make the Laboratory the certified institution for the standard unit for measuring the surface roughness parameters. The suggested calibration system is based on the Set of Roughness reference standards LFSB of top measuring properties, developed and realised in co-operation between the Laboratory of FSB and the Factory for Semi-conductors RIZ-Zagreb. Due to the research work and the existence of standards base in this field, the Laboratory at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture has been certified by the Government Bureau for Standards and Measurements, as well as, by the end of 1994, by SIT (Servizio di Taratura in Italia) for calibration of standards and devices in the testing of roughness. This paper will present a systemic overview of the method of insuring traceability at the Laboratory for Precise Length Measurements for the groove depth d and roughness parameter Ra, as well as the experience in determining and confirming the declared uncertainties of measurement.
