Sažetak
Area wide is a form of Integrated Pest Management program that aims to reduce pests in a particular area underneath those numbers that can cause damage. The goal of this program is a long-term solution, as opposed to individual combat, aimed covers substantially less area with short-term elimination of damage. AWPM programs must be: (i) conducted in a large geographical area, (ii) coordinated by the organization, not by individual producers (iii) may include eradication, if it is practical and affordable, but it should be focused on reducing and maintaining pest populations at an acceptable low abundance ; and (iv) shall include a mandatory component to ensure the success of the project within large geographical area, because voluntary programs historically have not provided desired level of pest population. In AWPM different techniques for pest control could be used. We will discuss the possible use of mass trapping as an effective technique for pest reduction. Results from different investigations on AWPM by mass trapping will be presented and discussed.
