Sažetak
The starting point for the preparation of this national report are the ideas and recommendations of the Regional SDI Legislation Framework Analysis and Regional SDI Establishment Recommendation Report (Act. 1.1 and 1.2. - draft ver. (Kroiss 2012). The report includes three levels: Legislative framework, Institutional framework and Technical framework. In accordance with the obligations taken over, before becoming a member of EU, Croatia adopted among other things in April 2013 the Law on the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI). It is a comprehensive regulation by means of which the INSPIRE Directive has been taken over completely. The fact that the Law on NSDI belongs to the Croatian “geodetic” legislative opens a lot of possibilities, but at the same time makes the geodetic profession and geodetic and geoinformation companies in Croatia more responsible. The application of NSDI in the first six months has resulted in a series of activities of SGA performed with the NSDI subjects aimed at the implementation of the Act, and the first visible results are the Register of NSDI subjects and the Register of NSDI spatial information topics that are now in its final stage. The preparation of this report is based on collecting the information from various sources (the documents of Croatian Government, SGA documents, official documents of other public authorities in Croatia, studies, reports, articles and presentations made or ordered by SGA, and the reports made for the purposes required by EU), as well as on the processing, analysis and synthesis of acquired knowledge.
