Sažetak
The paper discusses results from an ultrasonic examination of the rotor shaft of a Siemens 12.5 MWatt generator unit, which was performed at a standard plant outage. The inspection consisted of two parts: a conventional pulse echo examination (which revealed the presence of a number of service induced defects) and a subsequent time of flight examination used to investigate and size the defects identified by the first stage examination. The results obtained form a ``finger print`` examination of the rotor against which subsequent outage data can be compared, providing important defect propagation data. (author)
