Sažetak
Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANET) emerged as a special subgroup of mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) and currently represent the area of intensive research and development activities. Although VANETs share some properties with other types of ad hoc networks, they are in many ways very specific. Due to their specificities, they require novel solutions for networking mechanisms and security issues. This paper gives an overview of security issues currently present in VANETs. Different attack types are explained and some possible countermeasures are proposed. Security requirements of VANETs are analysed, and some possible methods for security improvements are described. Finally, some directions for future development of VANET security mechanisms are outlined.
