Sažetak
Pilates is an exercise method consisting of stretching and strength exercise systems. The aim of this research was to identify the exercise intensity in two Pilates workouts in which either big or small balls were used, and to determine any possible differences in exercise intensity between these two workouts. The obtained values showed that the participants exercised at low intensity. The comparison of heart rates for overall workouts pointed to the absence of significant differences between the two workout types both in exercise intensity and in heart rate values. It might be concluded that a ball, be it a small or a big one, is a useful accessory, which contributes to the diversity of Pilates programmes and to the higher motivation of participants.
