Sažetak
The object of consideration is the empirical study of an original software development method based on an iterative generation of prototypes and on manual coding of sophisticated functions. Practical problems are listed that may arise during analysis and integration of currently used solutions and existent data models. A proposal is made how to improve the data modelling by generating the data model elements. The concept of source code generation to build the database-oriented application is explained. The complete target programming system is generated in a single pass. The generated system consists of standard modules. Every module is aimed to handle the data in a single entity set, but it can also interact with other generated modules. Special attention is paid to the control of implementation of complex software and to the education of the development staff. Some practical experience collected by the usage of a proprietary generator is described. A comparison of projects, where some complex applications were developed, is made. An analysis is made to show the relationship between the code generation and manual coding. The problems related to the management of implementation are described. Possible solutions to these problems are proposed.
