Sažetak
The importance of studying flood wave emerges naturally from the consequence released by floods wave over the area of their propagation. Regardless the origin of flood waves (natural or induced by human activities), if a flood wave travel near an unprotected urban area, the importance of studying flood wave becomes even more evident. Actually, it is easy to agree that the tremendous damage that can be create, in first place human victims, obligate us to study flood waves and wave in general. Namely, to anticipate possible undesirable consequences, and consequently undertake essential actions to prevent them, requires a severe amount of engineering estimations and predictions, which will certainly include a numerical modeling of flood wave propagation. However, it should be note that the here considered numerical analysis lies on a set of assumptions and approximations which are not always reached in natural conditions. In a first place, the here considered numerical analysis treat a flood flow in a rectangular channel, with a constant cross section over the entire flow region. The rest of the introduce assumption can be interpreted as regular used assumptions, which simplify the numerical descriptions and in the same time doest effect dramatically the physical interpretation of the numerical results. In this sense, the here contained numerical description can be use to perform a preliminary estimations, i.e. qualitative analysis of flood wave propagation.
