Sažetak
After the major geopolitical and economic changes in the countries of Central Europe the question which arises is whether the countries of Central Europe constitute a region with regard to arbitration. The first part of the paper deals with the legal history and development of arbitration, from the CMEA arbitration to adoption of new arbitration laws. The second part deals with the arbitral procedure concentrating only on the issues important for practitioners doing business with Central European countries. In particular, it offers comparative analysis of four basic issues: the autonomy of the parties, court assistance and provisional measures, setting aside and the recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards. Finally, the paper offers short overview of the factors which could support regionality in Central Europe.
