Sažetak
At the moment there is still no consent about maximum contaminanat level (MCL) for nitrate, nitrite and ammonia in drinking water. Hence, in this research drinking and surface water samples, were tested, before and after sequential purification. Model solutions with MCLs and 50% lower concentrations of nitrate, nitrite and ammonia were also tested. Genotoxicity tests (Comet and Micronucleus) performed on peripheral blood lymphocytes did not show adverse effects on DNA. Weak antagonistic effect among nitrogen compounds, heavy metals and organic components was found. All of the water samples and the control had oxidative capacity, but nitrogen species alone did not have almost any oxidative capacity. Moreover, nitrogen compounds alone showed antioxidative activity. Proteomics results showed that solution with nitrate, nitrite and ammonia made changes in lymphocytes protein profile. Qvalitative and quantitative differences were detected. These results leading to the conclusion that even without damage of the lymphocyte DNA some sequences were inactivated and also some of them were up- or down-regulated.
