Sažetak
Within this work it is investigated hydrogen as the energy carrier and energy storage, its technologies of production, storage, distribution and use in fuel cells. The fact of steam reforming harmful impact on environment gives advantage to the electrolysis process as the cleaner technology of hydrogen production. The application of fuel cells has a potential of general use in all areas where demands for energy exists. The perspectives for these technologies are certainly good since these are related to the clean technologies of using renewable energy sources with zero carbon dioxide emission. All of these are result of expected increasing of energy demands as well as demands for decreasing of human impact on global climate changes. All mentioned specifically refers to the problem of transport. Therefore, hydrogen storage technologies require the greatest improvement as the key of large-scale hydrogen use thus renewable energy sources as well.
