Sažetak
The aim of this paper is to present the study of employee motivational system in Croatian construction enterprises. The methodology used consists of: relevant literature review, questionnaire carried out on three categories of construction employees (manual workers, building site operatives and civil engineers, top management) and results analysis. In Croatian construction companies, many modern motivational strategies are used, but employee sa tisfaction with them varies. There is a gap between the strategies that are being implemented, and the strategies that would really motivate people, as well as a major problem of non-transparency of the motivational system and belief that it is unfair. On the other hand, Croatian construction employees express predominant job satisfaction, while emphasizing the importance of good interpersonal relations, adequate salary, results recognition and positive feedback. Due to these results, there is a place for progress of existing and utilization of new motivational methods.
