Sažetak
The absence of enterpreneurs who could forcefully spur economic activity and the low present level of management know-how are the sore points for all transitional economies. The role of government is of special significance in relation to creating the best environment possible for encouragement of an enterpreneurial spirit and the stimulation of enterpreneurship. As another, government must take prompt action for additional management training. Raising the present levels of management know-how, but also raising the present levels of employee knowledge is the cheapest and most efficient way of taking a major step towards developed economies. An analysis of the present situation and possible solutions for these problems are given using the example of the Croatian economy.
