Sažetak
Foresight has become relevant at the regional level due to the growing importance of regional identities and regions as economic units. Regional Foresight has played important catalytic roles to support innovation by informing innovation policy ; helping to build networks among people centrally involved with shaping the future of the region ; and developing regional capabilities. The current paper describes a prioritisation process conducted in three NUTS2 regions of Croatia. The activity aimed at introducing the “Regions of Knowledge” concept: through participatory consensus-based workshops ; assessing the central role of knowledge in 3 different in the context of the innovation and competitiveness ; and informing knowledge-based innovation and technology policies by identifying key development priorities. The participatory process involved the used of common Foresight tools and techniques including Expert and stakeholder panels, SWOT analysis, Brainstorming, Scenario workshops, and Trend extrapolation. The study for the NUTS2 regions has achieved to identify emerging opportunities, trends and challenges by bringing the key agents of change and sources of knowledge in participative processes and developed strategic visions by defining regional priorities
