Sažetak
The worm press tribosystem was selected as an example in which the components are worn by combined mechanisms, abrasion and fatigue. Several types of worm presses were analyzed in detail. It was found that a decrease of installed capacity efficiency in the newer press construction appears much faster as the result of pronounced local damage of worn parts. The most probable cause is not only in the materials (coatings) of the tribocouple but also in the inadequate construction solutions of the press parts. The possibility of changes in the procedure of extraction cage knives production was analysed. Considering the properties reached by high temperature carbonitriding of test samples, it is possible to point out the advantages of using the high temperature carbonitriding compared to cladding.
