Sažetak
In this paper the general results of the engineering-geological explorations of the Zagreb-Rijeka (Croatia) highway at the section Kupjak-Bosiljevo are presented. The complete explorations of this section included: geological prospecting of wider area (scale 1:25000) ; description of the general engineering-geological characteristics of the area (preliminary project - in the scale 1:5000) ; and detailed engineering-geological investigations (the main project). The main project incorporated very detailed engineering-geological, geological, structural, sedimentological and hydrogeological investigations, as well as drilling and geophysical investigations and laboratory tests. The results of such detailed explorations were presented at engineering-geological map and profiles in the scale 1:1000 and in numerous characteristic profiles in the scale 1:200. The experts of various geological fields accomplished such detail and extensive explorations. The multidisciplinary team engaged at the project enabled a “wider geological” approach, better understanding of the engineering-geological characteristics of the karst terrain and more detailed definition of engineering-geological units. Beside that the rock mass classification data became more reliable and produced more realistic engineering-geological model.
