Sažetak
Intermodal transport is subjected to increasing requirements due to the internalization and globalization of the market. In order to allow its further growth and development, intermodal transport of cargo is facing important factors such as measuring, understanding and adequate role in intermodal transport according to the customers’ demands, its competitiveness on the global market, development of terminals as well as knowledge about the current and future intermodal terminal operative possibilities. With the increasing container transport at ports, the ports are forced, due to the shortage of warehouse space, to directly forward the containers to Dry Port terminals. Globalization is causing the development of competitiveness and survival of the ports on the world transport market and causes development and formation of intermodal terminals deep in their hinterland, i.e. founding of Dry Ports. The objective of this paper is the analysis of the development of KT Zagreb as the Dry port of the port of Rijeka.
