Sažetak
Regardless of how we experience architecture, the quality of the built environment - due to its omnipresent nature - deeply affects our quality of life. Architecture is probably the most obvious physical evidence of our culture and values. Poor spatial and architectural solutions are visible and identifiable, they are public, and as such have a major impact on the quality of life for both individuals and society as a whole. It is important to emphasize that by the adoption of this document the Government recognized the social and cultural significance of architecture and became a promoter in its promotion and the realization of quality built environment. Those who come after us will inherit the architecture and spatial relationships shaped by our professional skills, aesthetic and social criteria, and this will determine the value of the time in which we live and work. The working group for drafting the proposal of the "Architectural policies" document was established at the end of 2011 by the minister in charge, and in its work representatives of the Ministry of Construction and Physical Planning, the Physical Planning Council of the Republic of Croatia, the Croatian Chamber of Architects, the Croatian Chamber of Civil Engineers, and the Association of Croatian Architects are involved, all with the goal of achieving scientific and social consensus on the future development of the built environment.
