Sažetak
Essential oil composition of Micromeria thymifolia (Scop.) Fritsch was determined by gas chromatography and mass spectrometry during vegetation period. Aerial parts of cultivated plants were collected monthly since June to October. The yields of essential oil obtained by hydrodistillation from dried plant material were 0.26-1.51% (v/w). Essential oils were characterised by a very high content of oxygenated monoterpenes (90.18-96.45%). The rest of the oils was composed of monoterpene hydrocarbons (0-6.23%) and sesquiterpenes (0.64-5.89%). Piperitenone oxide (16.87-65.50%), pulegone (11.51-48.29%) and piperitone (0-23.59%) were identified as the major components of the investigated oils. Significant variations in the relative amounts of the main components during vegetation period were confirmed. A continual decrease in content of oxide fraction followed by simultaneous increase of the percentage of ketones was observed. The essential oil was constituted mainly of piperitenone oxide in June/July, whereas the highest total level of pulegone and piperitone was found in September/October.
