Sažetak
A three-year field study was conducted to determine weed population dynamics in oil pumpkin crop. Weed species composition, weed density (number m-2), fresh and dry above ground weed biomass (gm-2) were determined 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 weeks after crop emergence. The same parameters were determined 6 weeks after emergence (fully crop canopy) on plots where weeds were removed for the first 2, 3, 4, and 5 weeks after crop emergence. The total number of weed species in all three years was similar, ranking from ten to twelve, but only three to four species were dominant. The predominant specie in all three years was Echinochloa crus galli, but its share in total number of weed and fresh and dry weight of weeds differed by years. Number and biomass of weeds as well as share of species in total number and weight was changing in relation to weed removal time. The highest total number of weeds was found two weeks after emergence of oil pumpkin. The least total number of weeds was six weeks after crop emerged. Contrary to the number of weeds, biomass of weeds was increasing and the largest increase was obtained four and five weeks after mergence pumpkin in all three years. Number of weed species, and number of weed plants that emerged after weeding was always reduced than the number of species and plants on weedy control.
