Sažetak
The objective of this research was to gain new insights concerning the impact of lateral refraction on the measurement of horizontal angles. The study includes various tests in order to better understand this phenomenon. This paper presents information from measurements conducted at the Laboratory for Measuring and the Measurement Technique of the Faculty of Geodesy in Zagreb and describes the preparatory activities, measurements and calculations of temperature gradients. Results of 10 different tests are shown, in which hot and cold sources of refraction were placed at different distances from the instrument. Measurement results were analysed. Using indirect measurements, new constants were then calculated for the existing algorithms for calculating the effects of lateral refraction. The new algorithms were given.
