Sažetak
The effect of experimental cultivation on the content and composition of the essential oil of Micromeria thymifolia (Scop.) Fritsch (Lamiaceae), which forms chemotypes during wild growth in various areas of its distribution, was investigated. The essential oil of the wild specimen belonging to the pulegone chemotype took on new features in conditions of experimental cultivation. The composition of the ketone fraction was modified and the percentage of the oxides within the most abundant group of cyclic oxygenated monoterpenes was increased. The total yield of the oil decreased. The content and composition of the essential oil from cultivated plant specimen, which in terms of origin belongs to the piperitenone oxide chemotype, were altered only insignificantly as compared with those of the wild specimen.
