Sažetak
The duration of suitable workability of cement-based materials during placement is defined by the setting time and has great practical and financial interest. Calcium aluminate cement (CAC) is a versatile special cement used for specific applications in corrosive environment or high-temperature resistant applications. In this paper, the influence of the citric acid monohydrate (C6H8O7*H2O) on the setting time, flexural and compressive strength of the hydrated commercial calcium aluminate cement has been studied. The setting time of the prepared materials was determined by standard Vicat needle test. Hydration products were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction. Citric acid acts as a retarder of calcium
