Sažetak
After Croatian independence in 1991 within its territory still in the use was height reference system of the former Yugoslavia, as a sort of geodetic legacy. By the decision of the Croatian Government in 2004 "The defining official geodetic datums and planar map projections" a new positional, height and gravimetric reference system for the Republic of Croatia was adopted. Realization of the new Croatian height reference system (HVRS71) relies on the II levelling of high accuracy network (IINVT), which was performed in the period from 1970 till 1973, and on the new Croatian height datum (HVD71). Height datum is realized on the basis of tide gauge measurements including five tide gauges along the Adriatic coast (Dubrovnik, Split, Bakar, Rovinj and Koper). A geoid surface, determined like mean sea level surface for the epoch 1971.5, was adopted as the reference for heights determination, and the heights of benchmarks are defined like the normal-orthometric heights. Realization of HVRS71, based on the adjustment of IINVT network, was made using indirect measurements adjustment and the least squares method. The quality of the implemented system shows that the appropriate relative and absolute benchmarks position accuracy was achieved.
