Sažetak
One of the most important problems in archaeology is to determine the age of material remnants (artefacts), especially important in pre-historic archaeology. An overview of relative and absolute dating methods is given with an emphasis on radiometric absolute dating methods. Radiocarbon (14C) dating method is the most important dating method in archaeology and art history. The discovery of the method is presented, as well as the basic principles. Preparation and measurement techniques and the presentation of results is shortly described.
