Sažetak
The theme of the end term paper is the analysis of the association between some of Jane Austen’s works and the film adaptations with the particular emphasis on the success of the transmission of Jane Austen’s literary style on the screen. The difference between the culture of Jane Austen’s time and that of the modern times, and its influence on adaptations is also analyzed. Four film adaptations of Jane Austen’s novels have been analyzed. First, the attention is paid to the analysis of the novel Pride and Prejudice and two film adaptations of the novel which date from 1940 and 2005 and the comparison between these two incarnations. The next section focuses on the novel Sense and Sensibility and Ang Lee’s film from 1995. The paper ends with the section which represents an attempt to identify the crucial points from the novel Emma and analyze the film from 1996.
