Sažetak
The paper analyzes the stylistic and thematic features of Jim Jarmusch's films. Jarmusch's unique style and determination not to succumb to mainstream filmmaking is what makes him one of the most successful independent directors of our time. The aim of the research is to examine, with the help of relevant theoretical works, the unorthodox style and themes used in most of his films (Year of the Horse excluded). As an introduction, characteristics of classical Hollywood style and independent film style are presented, as well as the differences between these two styles. The second part of the paper focuses on analyzing the elements that make Jim Jarmusch's style so unconventional and themes that are recurring throughout his work.
