Sažetak
This paper analyzes the narrative and stylistic features of Christopher Nolan’s films, specifically the unusual plot structures and prominent stylistic features of neo-noir. Nolan is a relatively new director whose peculiar narrative methods and intriguing plots easily engage the viewers. The aims of the research are – by means of comparison with the relevant theoretical works and analyses of the existing texts – to examine the style in those films, to find out the purpose of such narration and to give an overview of his filmography in that regard. Most of the films employ the complex plot as a reflection of some internal problem, such as character’s confusion or memory disorder, while the neo-noir style is used to reinforce the ambiguity, desperation and other themes.
