Sažetak
The paper gives a comparative analysis of Croatian and foreign children's novels, focusing on the notion of the company. After analysing the historical development of Croatian children's novels, the author concentrates on novels by Mato Lovrak, Ivan Kušan, Anto Gardaš, Milivoj Matošec, Hrvoje Kovačević and Hrvoje Hitrec, comparing them with classic works of world literature by Erich Kästner and Ferenc Molnár. The author emphasizes the importance of analysing this canon of works because children's novels are very popular among pupils in elementary schools.
