Sažetak
OIS serves for a fast and easy search and exchange of data and information on investigation, exploration and protection of the Adriatic Sea. It has been developed as GIS based on exissting computer equipment at different institutions, and communication based on CARNet (Internet). As a part of information system a distributed database has been under development. It is designed as a relational database using ORACLE RDBMS. Referal part of database consists information of measurement data, responsible persons and institutions, databases, etc, and it is connected to more thematic oceanagraphic databases.
