Sažetak
Lexical borrowing has a significant function in naming new objects and processes. Lexical borrowing occurs most frequently in the area of technology, fashion and sports. Croatian sports terminology consists of many foreign words borrowed mainly from English language. In this work 45 anglicisms were analysed according to the level of their semantic adaptation. Zero semantic extension and primary restriction of meaning are the most frequent categories in the process of semantic adaptation.
