Sažetak
The main purpose of this paper is to investigate the possibility of immobilization of Chrysotile asbestos fibers on natural zeolite substrate, Clinoptilolite with prior structural characterization and physical/chemical analysis. Summary of this study is based on the similarities and differences in physical and chemical characteristics of each phase. Studied system (asbestos and natural zeolite) is characterized with following properties: particle size distribution (PSD) and pore size distribution of zeolite, related specific surface area, interfacial energy of system asbestos-natural zeolite, morphology and chemical composition of both solid surfaces. Fluid-bed technology is used to contact two phases. Preliminary experiments indicate that there is a possibility of immobilization of asbestos fibers on Clinoptilolite substrate due its mutual compatibility.
