Sažetak
Reinforced-concrete frames with masonry infill (“framed-wall”) constitute majority of existing buildings in medium and high seismic areas. Although there are numerous experimental investigations of the system there is still a lack of knowledge regarding their behaviour under seismic loading. Weak R/C frames with masonry infill present special case that needs particular attention as there are no code provisions or guide lines available for the assessment of their behaviour. This paper presents a comprehensive experimental study conducted on eleven scaled one-span one-storey weak reinforced-concrete frames. Different parameters were considered. Models were tested under constant vertical and cyclic horizontal loading up to the failure. Contribution of different parameters to the system behaviour was observed through strength, stiffness, energy dissipation, and failure mode. Furthermore, review of damage classification is given in terms of observed damage state at corresponding drift.
