Sažetak
The mass media, through which we get a variety of information about musical phenomena, are undoubtedly omnipresent in the lives of all generational members. The overflowing of information about music in contemporary society is often inversely proportional with the tradition and the specific education therefore the unprepared recipient is occasionally oriented towards public opinions when creating a judgement in its entirety. Nowadays the Croatian media space is burdened with a variety of problems, among which is the lost of the journalist’s reputation that is being shown to a large extent in the representation and in the quality of musical journalism. The aim of this research which was carried out was to establish whether the student population follows musical journalism in the daily papers, magazines and other media – on the radio, TV and portals ; whether they follow journalism in one or more genres, which ones, and if the interest in music publicist writing depends on the reputation of specific critics/authors of different articles, their preferences, sensibility, ideological and world-view background that are reflected by certain texts. In the first place, we wanted to find out the answers which were referred to journalistic types-analytic and publicist types: musical critiques, columns, articles and reviews of musical events, recordings and scores. The research results have shown that the students’ interest for music publicist writing is not great and that they, when creating personal conceptions about musical phenomena, do not consult themselves to a large extent with the opinions and marks of musical journalists and other media participants.
