Sažetak
A project CroArtScia is an international interdisciplinary scientific symposium which takes place every second year in Zagreb, Croatia. It is intended for those working in the arts and sciences, who recognize the need for interaction and collaboration. One of the themes is captured in the symbolic equation: Culture = Science + Art and the need to strive to realise this in practice. The interdisciplinarity of the symposium has a goal to produce real collaboration between scientists and artists and sensitize the wider public to the interactions of natural sciences, humanities and arts. The organizers intend to encourage artists to join in research projects. The topics are exploring in lectures, discussions, workshops, exhibitions, and concerts, giving opportunities to see science though the language of arts and vice versa. The specific purpose of CroArtScia is not solving the specific problem but setting, and discussing the various approaches that can give the same result. Book of Abstracts is published with the symposium and in the next year Proceedings of collected papers of the Symposium. Our next symposium with the title CroArtScia2013 – Asymmetry: Art & Science & Education will take place in Zagreb from 8 to 11 May, 2013 and one day of lectures will be in the Castle Veliki Tabor in a small country town Desinić, where will be presented and discuss various approaches to the topic of asymmetry and asymmetries.
