Sažetak
Diaspora politics and outreach programs make part of the post-socialist transition and state-building processes in all successor states of the former Yugoslav Federation. Diaspora outreach but also “homeland” support for Croatia from Diaspora communities all over the World, and last but not least “homeland” and re-migration, went through different stages since the late 1980s until today, thus reflecting actual political, economic and socio-cultural as well as other structural circumstances of the Croatian transition environment. The presentation will focus on the interplay between policy intentions expressed in Diaspora programs and individual responses within transnational frames of references between residence and “country of origin / homeland”, to incentives which triggered eventual “homeland” migration. Croatia´s constitution as ethno-national society, but also dynamics of an increasing heterogeneity and plurality can be reflected through such migrant perspectives.
