Sažetak
The paper describes a quality system development based on the ISO 9000 standards. Considered are its structure, place and role in the business and production system of a company. In addition, the basic functional and organisational components of the quality system, as well as planning, functioning, management and control are explained and analysed. The requirements and documentation of the quality system are described. The quality system audit, as well as the procedures and content of its realisation are a brief described. The objective, content and certification procedure are considered. Finally, the significance and the role of ISO 9000 standards, are analysed regarding assurance of continuous improvement of the overall business and production system of a modern company.
