Sažetak
Summary: In the exposure, the author is presenting the cycle of art workshops, named Baštinarnica that was taking place in the Dubrava People's University, within the programme for upringing and education through art. This projects' emphasize is on the importance of the legacy as a form of a cultural and natural heritage which is necessary to preserve and to pass on to younger generations and to sentisize them in preserving it, through which, by art work, the knowledge about own cultural identity is being developed. The goal of these workshops was to educate the citizens of all age about the cultural and historical heritage of the City of Zagreb, with the special emphasize on one of the city borroughs. They used such approach to the, project so that, the attendants, through visitations to certain locations, and through lectures and presentations, had the opportunity to directly get to know about the archeological, sacral, national folkore and natural heritage. After that kind of incentive, what followed was a creative process, that is, art work, by various processes and with various materials. The participants in workshops showed a great deal of interest in perception, detection of the values of cultural heritage, and they did it through showing creativity and originality in the art expression. In the university that was mentioned, initiatives in the field of preserving of cultural and monumental material heritage are being consolidated, and through programmes of life-long education, it is making them accessible to our widest public, and mostly to the children and youth.
